Choice of Superannuation
Members Only
Since 1 July 2005 many employers have been required to offer at least some of their employees what is called 'superannuation choice of fund'. This means that eligible employees are able to choose where their compulsory employer superannuation contributions will be paid.
Employees eligible to be given choice of fund are not required to exercise that choice, or to change fund, but have the legal right to do so from the date of commencement and once each twelve months thereafter. As with all regulatory obligations it is important that employers know what is required and where they can obtain assistance.
This information is available to members only if you are a member please sign otherwise contact NECA Victoria to speak about membership.
