NECA recognises the importance of having an effective Occupational Health and Safety Management System.  It is an integral component of running a business whether your company is a large or small operation.  Unfortunately many businesses do not have the time, resources, skills or the knowledge to know where to start. NECA can assist you to put in place an effective OHS Management System relevant to your company and industry sector that will assist you to prevent workplace injuries and incidents from occurring as well as assisting you to meet your legislative requirements.

More and more these days, Government Authorities and agencies, large corporations, clients and Principal Contractors are requesting that Electrical and Communications Contractors provide an OHS Management System indicating how they will manage their health and safety duties on site.  If you can't provide the required information in an acceptable format then your chances of winning the work may be reduced. 

NECA has a comprehensive OHS Management System available to its members that removes many of the hassles associated with devising your own safety plans and documentation. The OHS Management System uses NECA’s experience in the field and addresses the OHS Act’s requirements and WorkSafe’s expectations. The system is designed to align with the requirements of Australian Standard AS/NZS4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, and AS/NZS4804 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems – Guidelines, so members receive sound instruction in a commonsense format.
